What is arbitration?

A private trial with a binding verdict.

Instead of going to court, both parties present their case to a neutral arbitrator (or panel), whose decision — the award — is final and enforceable by law. On NyaySetu, the entire process is conducted securely online, from filing to the final award.

It's the right path when you need certainty and a decision you can enforce, without the cost and years of litigation.

FAQ

Arbitration, answered.

Is an arbitral award legally binding?
Yes. An award is final and binding on both parties and is enforceable by a court just like a decree, under the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996.
Can an award be challenged?
Only on limited statutory grounds (such as fraud or denial of natural justice). Awards are not re-tried on merits, which is what makes arbitration final.
How long does arbitration take?
Most NyaySetu matters conclude within about 75 days, against a published timeline agreed at the outset.
Is the process confidential?
Yes. Unlike court litigation, arbitration is private — proceedings and the award remain confidential to the parties.
